The early bird gets the worm, BUT the second mouse gets the cheese
The early bird gets the worm, BUT the second mouse gets the cheese
My new favorite line to describe my way of life.
After i’ve read a couple of website about the definition for this idiom, i found the meaning of this idiom was :
‘First mouse got caught in the MOUSE TRAP setting it off, hence the 2nd mouse that comes gets the cheese since the first one died and set off the trap’
so
Being first won’t guarantee you to achieve whatever it is that you wanted. By being patient, clever, and neat, when you see an opportunity rises up is the key to achieve it, ESPECIALLY if we’re not the first one to make the move.
So just beware, don’t be proud and brags too much yet if you’re the first one to make the move or achieve whatever it is that you’re after. If you’re not being careful enough and perpetrate a blunder, there’s always someone who will overtake you from the sideways.
And yeah, successfully overtaking someone in a stiff competition…. it really is feels good :9
